Here are some upcoming opportunities where you can help out the Runners' Club of Greater Cincinnati. If you can help out with any of these events, we would greatly appreciate it:
Club Fluid Station - The Club has a Flying Pig Fluid Station at mile 22. This is one of our largest volunteer opportunities of the year. We need 40 volunteers; so please volunteer today. Volunteers receive a free t-shirt courtesy of the pig, free food and drink at the waterstop, the chance to socialize with other members in a relaxed informal setting, and the free entertainment value of watching the Mile 22 Fluid Station Captain freak out over what could happen in 2013. If you're running the full marathon, ask family, friends and coworkers to catch you at "Your water stop - Mile 22" or if you enjoy to watch people suffer, mile 22 is definitely the place to be. You can sign up to volunteer on the club's Flying Pig Page.
Club Booth at the Flying Pig Expo - The club has procured a booth at the 2013 Flying Pig Expo which is on Friday May 3, and Saturday May 4. The booth is located in the center of the action. Working the booth is quite easy. You just tell people what a great group we are, hand out club newsletters, promote the Memorial Day Race, and answer any other questions that they may have about the club. If you can work the booth at the Flying Pig expo, sign up using the online volunteer form.
Memorial Day Race Committee - Have you ever wondered what it takes to put together a race? Get in on the action! The club is now forming a Race Committee for Memorial Day Race 37, Cincinnati's second oldest race, to be held on May 27th at Otto Armleder Park. We need assistance with pre-race and race-day organization, promotion, sponsorship, and volunteer coordination. We will have at least three meetings - one in March, April, and May. Please email us at cincinnatirunning@gmail.com or call Gina Meyers at (513) 706-1454.
Ongoing Openings - Currently we have few openings for keeping the club running on an ongoing basis: Social Chair, Membership Chair, Program Chair, Newsletter Editor and Database Manager. Most positions take 1-2 hours a week of your time. If you can or would like to fulfill one of these positions, please send an email to cincinnatirunning@gmail.com or attend the next board meeting.
